PLANNING WEBSITE
Initial website mock up before adding my own images/videos:
Once I obtain my own images and videos I hope to make the site more interactive to attract the target audience.
PLANNING PRODUCTION
Initial Story Board Draft:
Film older woman putting tape into tv looking a bit upset.
zoom into tv until it consumes the screen.
Follow two people on split screen only showing feet, putting shoes on/getting ready then
both leave the house start walking slowly begin to run and zoom out as they’re running until
both are fully in frame. Then switch to one screen where they run into each other's arms.
Two girls hug then kiss. Short, quick scene.
Film the two having fun, short party scenes ect.
Film them with long shots running through fields at sunset, swimming in the sea.
Being young and wild.
Film close up them having an argument, follow one person off scene then cut to other
person sat along, low-key lighting, sad.
Split screen, one girl stays sad over the breakup, the other gets with a man but is in
an unhappy relationship.
Screen goes static and zooms back out to the modern time with the TV.
Pan round to close up shot of an old lady sad.
Zooms out to reveal both women when they’re older, happy, holding hands.
Or other woman walks in with a cup of tea and sit down together.
Shots I'd Like To Use
- Tracking shot- following subject at the start and again at the end
- Medium close up-
- Split screen- after arguing scene compare lives/feelings
- Long shot-
- Extreme longshot- running across the beach/in a field
Video Script
- As music starts tracking shot of older woman walking towards TV and putting on an old
VHS tape
- Camera zooms into the TV screen
- Cuts to more vintage looking camera
Unfinished video, still need to:
- Film the beginning minute
- Film ending
- Sort out the quality of the video when I upload it properly
STATEMENT OF INTENT
Product 1
In my music video I intend to represent not only different age demographics, but also, people of different sexualities. In doing so I hope to create a safe space for all people, making them feel comfortable and closer to the artist; furthermore, I hope this will promote positive attributes of the artist which may gain more listeners. I will contrast an older person's life with a younger version of themselves, hopefully making the audience feel as though they should make the most of their lives while they're young and free. By using actors that are similar ages to the 16-15 age demographic, I intend for them to feel relatable to the video and hopefully gain an emotional connection. I intend to dress the actors in 90’s style clothes as that is what is currently in fashion for 16-15 year olds so hopefully will inspire the audience and further entice them to watch the video. I will use some common features of love song videos for example; short scenes of a couple in love, exciting shots, low-key lighting for sadder moments and high-key lighting for happier moments. In doing so I hope this establishes the genre of the song. To contrast other music videos I’m going to use types of cameras, a modern camera to represent the present and an older camcorder to illustrate the past, this will reinforce the 90’s theme and hopefully attract the target audience. At the end of the video I’m going to include a small link to the website and display the artist and the name of the company they are signed to, hopefully this will lead the audience to visit the website.(277 words)
Product 2
For my website I want to keep the colour scheme quite simple as from my research I noticed most of the other websites aren’t too bold. I will include a range of images representing couples of different sexualities, hopefully this will make everyone feel represented and create a deeper bond between the audience and the artist. On the homepage I want to promote the artists good values by illustrating current news stories they feel passionate about and are involved with, this will further promote the artist to the audience while making the website more interesting. In order to gain more revenue through the website, I am planning on including a subscription service to gain early access to new merch/album teasers. In addition to this I want to have a link to a shop where the audience can purchase merchandise made by the artist. Hopefully this will not only further promote the artist as people will see others wearing their merchandise, but also will allow the audience who subscribe to feel closer to the artist as they will have special access to things others can’t get. Furthermore, I plan on having links to the artists social media accounts as this is something that most people from the target audience will use. (235 words)
Convergence
I intend to link my media products by featuring photos from behind the scenes of the music video and also short clips/photos from the video itself on the website with a link to offer easy access for the audience to watch it. In the music video I plan on including a link to the website and the name of the artist in the hopes that the audience will be intrigued and search it up. This media convergence is an important way to gain revenue and promote the artist on all platforms. (92 words)
